Polka Dots, Leopard and Plaid Oh My! 8.10.11

Mixing prints is my thing!  So here is one of the many outfits that I will be showcasing this trend.  What I think is key to pulling off this look is not to go over more than three kinds of prints at once and CONFIDENCE is very important!.  Also, this might be extreme for most people to pull off.  It is not for everyone.  For me, I do not have fashion boundaries so I am willing to try something new...at least experiment to see if it works or not.  So here, I have on a  b&w polka dot skirt with a leopard blouse that is ruffled and ties at the front.  Then I use bold color with a bright orange skinny belt and green blazer.  The third print is the plaid on my headband.  As for shoes I go with a neutral tan high heel bootie.  Overall, I think this is a refreshing change to the usual boring office attire.  It's fun and colorful and definitely puts you in a happy mood.
If you want to experiment mixing prints in your wardrobe but not sure where to start try with just two kinds of prints in the same color palette and textures.  Leopard now is considered a neutral :)  You can pair a leopard with stripes or a floral print if the color scheme is similar.  It will add texture and dimension to your outfit....and you will not look like you dressed in the dark. ;) Also stick to one bold color print too.  Actually the leopard and polka dots on my outfit are my neutrals and the bright colors are my accents.  So have fun with it!  Give it a try!  It doesn't have to be brain surgery.  Fashion is all about having fun and exploring ways to create a style.

Here are some examples of mixing prints.  Stick to a similar color theme.
