Equestrian Hipster Mod Squad Meets English Prep School Gent

Cheerio!  Today's title pretty much explains me and my boyfriend's outfit.  I included him since I thought we looked coordinated and also adding mens fashion into the mix would be good :)  My ensemble is a printed cotton dress with button closures on the front.  I added a basic cotton black long sleeve underneath and belted it with a wide brown leather belt to give it a cinched look.  I balance the brown belt by pairing it with brown leather flat over the knee boots. And of course my last accessory is my black riding hat that I love.  I also wore it earlier this week if you noticed.  You will see me wear my clothes and accessories over and over again, but it will always look completely different by how I style it.  Every outfit I put together seems fresh and new to me.

My boyfriend is wearing casual blue jeans with a cream colored dress shirt tucked in.  Over the dress shirt he added a gray knit vest and a striped knit tie.  (For men) To make your outfit dressy casual always wear a blazer/jacket.  It is amazing how just wearing a nice blazer/jacket looks so put together on a man.  Here my boyfriend is wearing a brown corduroy jacket completed with a brown leather belt, shoes and a watch.

Now we are ready to start off the weekend looking Fab!

Let's do the Polka!

Today's outfit is all about polka dots with a twist! I paired a lady-like short dress with black sheer stockings that has tiny polka dots. Note, my dress has pockets! I think that is the best fashion design idea ever. My headband is also black and white polka dot with a small Hello Kitty face in the center of the bow. As I post future pictures, you will see that I am a Hello Kitty fan :) But just a touch in the outfit...very understated. To top off my look, I added two big chunky pearl necklaces...one in a pearl color and one in bright coral. Also living in San Francisco, it gets a little chilly here so I added a colorful psychedelic cardigan to give it a splash. One thing you will notice in my style is that I love mixing different patterns, textures and colors. More about how to do that in your wardrobe soon.
The whole feeling I get in my ensemble is "Classic Sixties meets California Dreamin". I think the only thing that would really complete this look....a martini in my hand! ;)

Forties Inspired

Today's outfit is forties inspired. Think of Katherine Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman. Black long wide leg high waisted trousers with a boxy short sleeved blouse. Button closures are on the blackside of the blouse with a fun safety pin print. I used red as my accent color which you can see with my belt and suede booties. And to top of my look with an equestrian inspired hat.

My outfit for 7.27.11

Today's outfit is blue skinny jeans with black and white striped cotton shirt tucked in with skinny kelly green belt. Hot pink boyfriend blazer to give the outfit pop. And of course basic black high heel pumps to complete the look for day to night! Casual uptown chic! ;)

Skinny jeans and striped top from Forever 21, Pink blazer by Zara, belt and bag by H&M, black heels by Halston, aviators by Marc by Marc Jacobs, accessories by David Yurman and Michele. Overall, my thing about my style is that I love mixing different designers and price points. There is no excuse not to look fabulous. You can achieve any look at any price point. Experiment with your style and don't be afraid to try something new! Please feel free to ask me style questions. I would be happy to give you my advice and suggestions. Have fun :)

Welcome!

Hello Fashion lovers and welcome to my blog! I am just now finally doing this after setting up this blog almost three years ago! What took me so long?! :P Maybe it was because I was not sure what to blog about, but I now realize it does not have to be perfect. It can be anything that inspires me, but also an outlet for me to express myself. And what I mean by expressing myself is through my sense of fashion and style. That is the reason why I set this blog in the first place. :) Also what prompt me to get this blog going is that friends and strangers would ask me if I have a fashion blog. I remember a friend telling me that I should take a picture everyday of my outfits and post them up. What I wonderful idea she had and so that encouraged me to get this ball rolling. I hope you enjoy and I will be posting my ensembles along with everything else I think I should share when it comes to fashion!
